Leonie

Leonie Webster is the founder & pioneer of Heart 4 Justice and an Assemblies of God (UK) missionary. She is a mother, qualified midwife (RM) and seasoned overseas missionary with over 20 years of child welfare experience. Leonie relocated from Honduras in 2012 after organized crime threats forced her to leave. She served the Orphan Justice Center, Kansas City, Missouri as the Director of International Development, where she used her medical and missional experience to help empower and teach the church to fulfil its mandate.

Incorporating orphan and anti-human trafficking experience, Leonie and her OJC team helped equip the church to become actively involved, not only as congregations but also as individuals to make a difference.

Leonie is currently working in partnership with Open Gate International, and is the director of their Child Welfare Program.

Currently, her work is focussed within Europe and the US, specifically in Moldova, Romania and Belarus, although she still has a heart for the Latin American community.

Called by God

In 1998, whilst studying midwifery in Leeds, Leonie was woken by God's presence; He spoke to her through Jeremiah 23:3-4.

He told her that she was to care for the women and children of Honduras. After qualifying as a midwife, Leonie learnt Spanish and moved to Honduras to fulfil God's calling.

She has adopted a Honduran boy, called Joshua, a vibrant bilingual child who was neglected by his parents and abandoned when he was 18 months old. Joshua has been with Leonie since 2004.

In 2012, when life in Honduras became too dangerous for her and Joshua to stay, God opened the door for Leonie to continue to fulfil her calling through basing the ministry in the US.

When it was necessary for Leonie and Joshua to move back to the UK, God continued to open doors for Leonie to serve Him through mission - specifically through coming alongside existing charities and NGOs in the US and Eastern Europe.

Jeremiah 23:3-4

“I myself will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number.

I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or terrified, nor will any be missing,” declares the Lord.
