Consultant Midwife

Leonie is qualified midwife registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council in the UK. (equivalent to a Certified Nurse Midwife in the US). 

She has extensive experience as a practicing midwife supporting mothers and families through pregnancy in the UK, in Honduras and the US.

Leonie used her experience to bring an international perspective to local midwifery practice through her work with the New Birth Company, Kansas City.

She provided the weekly training sessions at NBCKC to strengthen current midwifery practice in Kansas City based on international best-practice.

Leonie also lead birth classes twice a week for expectant mothers and their families in the Kansas City area.

Leonie undertook all of her consultant midwifery work on a voluntary basis.
